Lattafa Asad Elixir: Not a Stronger Asad, a Different One
Lattafa Asad Elixir is a men’s eau de parfum from 2025, sold in a 100 ml bottle. Pink pepper, saffron and grapefruit open it. Tobacco, vanilla and cedar carry the middle. Amber, frankincense, patchouli and cashmeran hold the base.
The name sets up an expectation it does not meet. Elixir is not a concentration, and this is an eau de parfum exactly like the original. What separates the two is composition rather than strength, and the pair of notes that made the original famous do not appear here at all.
Lattafa Asad Elixir: the short version
- What it is: Men’s fragrance, 100 ml, released in 2025.
- Smells like: A dry peppery-saffron opening over tobacco and vanilla, finishing ambery and resinous.
- Shares with the original: Tobacco, vanilla and amber. Little else.
- Elixir means: Nothing technical. Lattafa Asad Elixir and the original are both eau de parfum.
- Best for: Evenings, autumn and winter.
- One caution: Read the award section below before repeating any award claim about this fragrance.
Lattafa ASAD ELIXIR Fragrance Notes:

- Middle Notes: Tobacco, Cedar, Vanilla.
- Base Notes: Light Amber, Frankincense, Patchouli, Cashmeran.
One warning while you shop. At least one retailer describes Lattafa Asad Elixir using incense, leather, myrrh and davana, and none of those four appear in the published note list. That is retailer copy drift, not a different formulation, so check the pyramid rather than the sales paragraph.
What does Lattafa Asad Elixir smell like?
Lattafa Asad Elixir opens dry and sharp. Pink pepper crackles, saffron brings its leathery metallic edge, and grapefruit adds a bitter lift. Anyone coming from the original will notice the entry is far less fruity.
The middle is where the family resemblance lands. Tobacco and vanilla together are the recognisable Asad signature, and cedar holds them dry instead of letting the vanilla turn gourmand.
The base of Lattafa Asad Elixir is resinous and slightly powdery. Amber leads, frankincense adds a cool church-incense thread, patchouli darkens it, and cashmeran supplies a clean musky-woody hum underneath.
The published accord ranking puts amber first, then woody, then tobacco. Sweetness sits mid-table, which matches how dry this reads on skin.
Elixir is not a concentration
European cosmetics law defines none of the words on a perfume box. Not eau de toilette, not eau de parfum, not extrait, and not elixir. There is no legal percentage attached to any of them.
Trade convention fills part of the gap. Eau de toilette runs roughly five to fifteen percent aromatic compound, eau de parfum roughly ten to twenty, extrait roughly fifteen to forty. No auditor checks those figures, but the industry treats them as a shared reference point, and Lattafa Asad Elixir sits inside that same unverified system.
Elixir has no published convention at all. Houses use elixir, intense, extreme and parfum more or less interchangeably, and each one decides privately what the word means on its own products.
Which matters here, because Lattafa Asad Elixir carries the same eau de parfum label and the same 100 ml size as the original. The Elixir badge buys no step up in oil load. If you came expecting a more concentrated Asad, that is not what is in the bottle.
Since Lattafa never claimed a figure, there is also nothing to complain about. The word signals intent, and intent is all it signals.
What actually changed from the original
The original Asad, from 2021, opens on black pepper, tobacco and pineapple, turns on coffee, and closes on vanilla, amber and dry wood. Pineapple and coffee are the notes that gave it an identity and a reputation.
Neither one survives into Lattafa Asad Elixir. What carries over is tobacco, vanilla and amber: three materials out of roughly ten. Everything else is new, including saffron, grapefruit, frankincense, patchouli and cashmeran, and the black pepper becomes pink.
So Lattafa Asad Elixir is a fresh composition wearing a familiar name, which is how most Gulf flankers actually work. The shared name signals a family, not a reformulation.
The practical consequence is simple. If the coffee and pineapple are the reason you wear the original, you will not find them here, and no amount of wearing it will make them appear.
The Beautyworld Dubai award, and what it would mean
Beautyworld Dubai held its thirtieth edition at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 6 to 8 October 2026, with the awards gala on 7 October at Le Méridien Dubai. The show carried the Beautyworld Middle East name until recently.
The category that matters for Lattafa Asad Elixir goes by the name Popular Fragrance of the Year. No category called most popular perfume of the year exists, so that phrasing should not appear on a product page.
Lattafa appeared among the 2026 finalists. The organiser had not published a winners list when this page was written, and last year the results took several days to appear.
Worth understanding what the category rewards. It is a judged trade award decided by a panel assessing commercial reach and consumer appeal. It is not a sales ranking, and it does not certify that anything is the best-selling fragrance in a market.
Who Lattafa Asad Elixir suits
Lattafa Asad Elixir belongs to evenings and the colder half of the year. It suits anyone who wants tobacco and amber warmth that stays dry rather than turning sweet, and it suits the person who found the original too loud or too fruity for a formal room.
Read Lattafa Asad Elixir as the more restrained member of the family. That makes it the easier of the two to wear somewhere quiet.
