Hekayat Attar Honeyash : The Honey, Tobacco and Chocolate Gourmand Explained

Hekayat Attar Honeyash is a honey and tobacco gourmand: cinnamon, chocolate and honey on top, tobacco, myrrh, caramel, vanilla and orris in the heart, and tonka, sandalwood and amber underneath. It smells like golden honey poured over dry tobacco leaf and dark cocoa, warm and a little smoky.

The name says it plainly: honey, and the ash of tobacco. What holds Honeyash together is chemistry rather than luck. The molecule behind almost every honey note already smells faintly of tobacco and chocolate, and that same molecule explains the one thing to check before you buy.

Hekayat Attar HONEYASH Fragrance Notes:

  • Top Notes: Honey, Chocolate, Cinnamon.
  • Middle Notes: Honey, Tobacco, Myrrh, Vanilla, Caramel, Orris.
  • Base Notes: Tonka bean, Sandalwood, Amber, Woody notes.

Orris is the quiet hero. Iris root adds a cool, powdery softness that keeps all that honey and caramel from sliding into dessert.

Honeyash: the short version

  • Profile: Golden honey, dark cocoa, cinnamon, dry tobacco, powdery orris, warm amber.
  • Sweetness: 7 out of 10. Rich rather than sugary, with smoke and resin as a counterweight.
  • Strength: A heavy base of tobacco, tonka, sandalwood and amber, built for long wear.
  • Best for: Autumn and winter evenings, special occasions. 100 ml eau de parfum.
  • Skip if: Honey notes have turned sharp or animalic on your skin before, or you want something fresh.

What does Honeyash smell like?

Cinnamon hits first, then dark cocoa and honey right behind it. The opening is thick and golden, and the spice is what stops it reading as syrup.

Tobacco comes through within the hour: dried leaf, hay and a thread of smoke. Myrrh adds a bitter resin with a faintly medicinal edge. Caramel and vanilla thicken the sweetness while orris cools it down, and that push and pull is where Honeyash is at its best.

The base settles into tonka, sandalwood and amber, warm and creamy with a hay-like sweetness. Hours in, the fragrance reads as honeyed tobacco resting on warm wood, quieter than the opening but still unmistakably itself.

Why do honey, tobacco and chocolate work together in Honeyash?

Almost every honey note in perfumery is built on one family of molecules: phenylacetic acid and its esters. They occur naturally in real honey, and they form the backbone of beeswax absolute, the natural honey material made by washing honeycombs in alcohol.

Phenylacetic acid does not smell of honey alone. Alongside the sweetness it carries tobacco and chocolate facets. Read the top and heart of Honeyash again: honey, chocolate, tobacco. The three headline notes are three sides of the same material family, which is why they fuse instead of competing.

Tonka bean closes the loop. Its hay-like sweetness echoes both beeswax and cured tobacco leaf, and tonka has flavoured pipe tobacco for generations.

The same molecule explains the one risk. At higher concentrations, phenylacetic acid turns animalic, even faintly urinous. On most skin a honey note stays golden; on some it drifts toward the animal side. The fix is simple: apply lightly, and test Honeyash on your own skin before buying a full bottle.

How long does Honeyash last, and when should you wear it?

The structure points to long wear. Tobacco, tonka, sandalwood, amber and vanilla are all long-life materials, and they make up most of the composition. Honeyash is built as an evening-into-night fragrance rather than a quick daytime spray.

Autumn and winter evenings suit it best. Cold air sharpens the tobacco and cinnamon. Heat makes honey heavy and brings its animal side forward faster.

One or two sprays is the right dose. Honey punishes overapplication more than most gourmand notes, for exactly the reason above: more material means more of its animalic edge.

If honey has turned on your skin before, spray Honeyash on a scarf or the collar of a coat instead. Fabric has no skin chemistry, so the honey stays golden, and wool holds tobacco and amber for a long time.

Who should buy Honeyash, and who should skip it?

Buy Honeyash if you love warm gourmands but want smoke and texture rather than pure sugar. It is unisex in practice: honey, tobacco and sandalwood sit comfortably on anyone.

Skip it if honey notes have gone sour or animalic on you before. That tendency comes from chemistry, and it will likely repeat. Skip it for summer and for offices with close desks, too.

For sweet with smoke but a simpler structure, Raghba pairs sugar with incense. For the caramel and tonka without any smoke, Dulce takes the softer route.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about shipping, authenticity, and caring for your fragrance.

01 How does Honeyash compare to other Hekayat Attar fragrances?
You Are My Gem is the bright, tropical gourmand of the house, all red fruit, pineapple and whipped cream. Honeyash is its darker counterpart: honey, tobacco and resin for the evening.
02 Is Honeyash good for summer?
Not really. Heat makes honey heavy and exaggerates its animalic facet. Honeyash belongs to cool evenings, when the tobacco and cinnamon can breathe.
03 Why does Honeyash smell different on some people?
The molecules behind honey notes carry an animalic side that some skin brings forward. On most people Honeyash stays golden and sweet. On a few it turns slightly sharp. Test on skin, and apply lightly.
04 Does Honeyash smell like real honey?
It smells honey-like, rich and waxy, rather than like a jar of supermarket honey. Honey notes use the same molecules found in real honey and beeswax, so Honeyash reads warmer and darker than the food, closer to honeycomb than to syrup.
