"Asghar Adam Ali opened a perfume shop in Aden, Yemen in 1969. He was sixteen. Moreover, his father was a perfumer. His mother of Arab descent made her own bakhoors and tested them on him as a child. That childhood shaped one of the most important noses in Arabian perfumery. Furthermore, political unrest forced the family to leave Yemen for the UAE in 1990. Nabeel relaunched from a 7,000 square foot warehouse in Sharjah. That warehouse is now a 220,000 square foot manufacturing facility at SAIF Zone producing over 60 million bottles per year.

Consequently, Parfumo calls Nabeel one of the four most important perfume manufacturers in the UAE. The group runs four brands: Nabeel for oriental and occidental compositions, Spirit of Dubai for ultra-niche luxury, Chris Adams for Western-style fragrances, and Shumukh, the $1.29 million world-record perfume that took 494 trials to complete.
