Nusuk Fawah Midnight Edition: The Real Note List, and the Two Wrong Ones

Fawah Midnight Edition is a 2025 eau de parfum from the Dubai house Nusuk, sold in an 80 ml bottle. Burnt sugar, apricot blossom and cardamom open it. Cinnamon, incense, bark and cashmeran fill the middle. Leather, cacao, suede, patchouli and ambergris hold the base.

That pyramid needs stating carefully, because three different ones are circulating and plenty of shops are publishing the wrong one. Two of the three do not describe this fragrance at all.

Fawah Midnight Edition: the short version

  • What it is: An 80 ml eau de parfum from 2025, listed for men and sold widely as unisex.
  • Smells like: Fawah Midnight Edition runs spiced caramel into smoky incense, closing on leather and cacao.
  • Dominant accords: Warm spicy and leather lead, with amber and smoke behind them.
  • Best for: Evenings and cold weather.
  • Important: It shares exactly one note with the original Fawah. This is not a darker version of it.

Nusuk FAWAH Midnight Edition Fragrance Notes:

  • Top Notes: Burnt Sugar, Apricot Blossom, Cardamom.
  • Middle Notes: Cinnamon, Incense, Bark, Cashmeran.
  • Base Notes: Leather, Cacao, Suede, Patchouli, Ambergris.

Worth noting the 80 ml. Most of the category sells at 100 ml, so Fawah Midnight Edition gives you a fifth less liquid than the bottle sitting beside it, and any price comparison needs to account for that.

Specification is settled even where the notes are not. Every source agrees on 80 ml and on eau de parfum, and on a 2025 release. Gender splits: the databases say men, several retailers say unisex, and the composition supports either.

What does Fawah Midnight Edition smell like?

The opening is sweet but not fruity-sweet. Burnt sugar gives it a caramelised, almost scorched edge, cardamom adds a dry green spice against it, and apricot blossom sits underneath as a soft floral rather than as fruit.

The middle turns dark. Cinnamon carries the spice forward, incense brings dry resinous smoke, and cashmeran hums beneath as a clean woody musk. Bark adds a raw, slightly green woodiness that keeps the sweetness in check.

The base is where Fawah Midnight Edition earns its name. Leather and suede together give a soft animalic depth rather than a harsh tarry one, cacao adds bitterness against the burnt sugar from the opening, and ambergris lends a salty warmth over the patchouli.

The published accord ranking runs warm spicy first, then amber and leather. Despite the burnt sugar and cacao this is not a gourmand, and the smoke keeps it well clear of dessert.

Three note lists, and two of them are wrong

Search for Fawah Midnight Edition and you will meet three pyramids. The first is the one above. The second leads on honey, cinnamon and osmanthus over benzoin and labdanum, closing on vanilla, tonka bean and musk. The third opens on saffron and pink pepper with jasmine and agarwood below.

The third can go straight in the bin. Saffron, pink pepper, jasmine, ambroxan and oud is the most generic Arabic-fragrance pyramid it is possible to write, it appears on exactly one listing, and nothing else supports it.

The second is more interesting, because it is a real pyramid. It simply has nothing to do with Fawah Midnight Edition, and belongs to a different perfume. Compare it against a well-known fragrance from 2013 by another house and seven of its eleven notes match exactly, including every single top note and every single base note.

What happened to Fawah Midnight Edition is ordinary enough. A shop described Fawah Midnight Edition by reference to that older fragrance, somebody pasted the older fragrance’s note list into the product field, and other retailers copied it across markets. It now sits on listings in several countries and in one database’s description text.

So the practical test is simple. If a listing gives you honey, osmanthus and tonka bean, it is describing something else. The real thing leads on burnt sugar and lands on leather and cacao.

It shares one note with the original Fawah

The 2023 Fawah is a fresh aromatic: lemon zest and lemon over lavender, with earthy patchouli, smoke and apple in the middle, closing on vanilla and vetiver. Bright, green and faintly smoky.

Set the two pyramids side by side and patchouli is the only material Fawah Midnight Edition shares with it. Everything else changes, which makes Fawah Midnight Edition a different fragrance wearing a familiar name rather than a nocturnal version of one.

That is worth knowing before you buy. Anyone who liked the original for its lemon and lavender freshness will find none of it here, and the Midnight name promises a relationship the bottles do not actually have.

It is worth reading the naming convention sceptically across this part of the market. An Edition suffix on a Gulf release often signals a separate composition sharing a line name rather than a variation on one formula, and Fawah Midnight Edition is a clean example of it.

Who Fawah Midnight Edition suits

Fawah Midnight Edition belongs to cold evenings, on someone who wants spiced leather with a sweet edge rather than a dry one. The burnt sugar and cacao make it friendlier than most leather fragrances, and the incense stops it turning into dessert.

Skip Fawah Midnight Edition if you want the original, and skip it if you want something fresh. This is a dark, warm, close-wearing composition with nothing bright in it after the first few minutes.
