Zimaya Ghali Elegant 100ml: What It Smells Like
Zimaya Ghali Elegant opens on pear and citrus, turns through saffron and rose, and settles into sandalwood, vanilla and amber. It is a 100ml eau de parfum released in 2026, and the house describes it as soft, radiant and effortlessly feminine, which is close enough to the mark.
What the description leaves out is that the pear at the top is the most peculiar thing in the bottle. No perfumer has ever extracted pear from a pear. The note is a single manufactured molecule, and that molecule has a second career baiting traps in fruit orchards.

What Zimaya Ghali Elegant smells like
Zimaya Ghali Elegant leads with pear, and it is the cool, watery, slightly waxy kind rather than anything jammy. Orange and bergamot sharpen it for a minute or two, giving the opening a brightness that fades faster than the pear does. Five minutes in you have a soft fruit note hovering over something warmer that has not quite arrived.
Then the saffron surfaces. It is the note that keeps this composition from being merely pleasant: dry, faintly leathery, with the metallic edge that perfumery saffron always carries, and it lands in the middle of all that soft fruit like a struck match.
Rose and orange blossom gather around it. Neither is loud. The rose reads modern and clean rather than old-fashioned and jammy, orange blossom adds a honeyed white-floral breadth behind it, and the musk listed alongside them pulls the whole heart closer to the skin.
The base is the easiest part to like and the hardest to describe, because nothing in it stands out on purpose. Sandalwood gives a creamy, milky woodiness, vanilla rounds the edges without turning dessert-like, and the amber underneath supplies that warm, slightly powdery glow that makes a fragrance feel finished rather than simply over.
The progression is gentle throughout. Zimaya Ghali Elegant never changes character so much as it changes temperature, cooling at the top and warming as it goes, and the saffron is the hinge that lets it do that without a seam.
Expect moderate projection and a close, comfortable trail. This is not a fragrance that announces you from across a room, and the composition does not seem to want to.
The pear note is a moth lure
The pear at the top of Zimaya Ghali Elegant cannot be extracted from a pear. The compounds that make the fruit smell of itself sit in it at parts per million, far too dilute to distil economically and too fragile to survive solvent extraction. There has never been a commercial pear absolute, and there is unlikely ever to be one.
What perfumers use instead is one molecule, ethyl (2E,4Z)-2,4-decadienoate, identified in the Williams pear in the 1970s and known in the trade simply as pear ester. Its geometry matters absurdly: only that one arrangement of the double bonds smells of pear, and the near-identical isomer made alongside it in the same reaction does not.
At around one percent on a blotter it reads as convincing ripe Williams pear. A little hexyl acetate beside it supplies the waxy green of the skin rather than the flesh.
Here is the part worth knowing. The same molecule is one of the most effective insect attractants in commercial fruit growing.
A 2001 paper in Naturwissenschaften reported that pear ester draws the codling moth, the grub that bores into apples and pears, and does so with unusual force. Conventional traps use codlemone, the moth's own sex pheromone, which only brings in males.
Pear ester pulls in males and females together, including females that have already mated. At low microgram doses the combined catch matched what codlemone managed with males alone, and lures stayed potent in the field for months.
So the note that makes Zimaya Ghali Elegant smell fresh and fruity doubles, in another industry, as a species-specific bait for a pest. None of which changes how the perfume smells. It is simply the sort of thing a note list never tells you.
Where Zimaya Ghali Elegant fits
Zimaya Ghali Elegant is a daytime fragrance that holds up in the evening, which is more useful than it sounds. The fruit and citrus keep it light enough for an office or a lunch, and the sandalwood and amber give it enough body that you do not need to reapply before going out.
Spring and autumn suit Zimaya Ghali Elegant best. In real heat the vanilla and amber can feel heavier than intended, and in deep cold the pear opening loses some of its lift.
The fragrance will appeal most to someone who likes fruity florals but has grown tired of the sugary ones. The saffron is doing that work, and it is the single thing that separates Zimaya Ghali Elegant from a crowded shelf of pear-and-vanilla releases.
Anyone wanting projection, oud, or something genuinely unusual should look elsewhere. Zimaya has built something well-made and deliberately agreeable here, and agreeable is the point
