Abdul Razzak Kalsekar opened a single perfume shop in Murshid Bazar, Deira, in 1979. Moreover, he came from the Indian subcontinent with one goal: build a fragrance house, not just another attar stall. His six sons joined the business. Each took a specialised role. Furthermore, in 1986 father and son Siraj spotted a Jafza billboard on the highway to Abu Dhabi. They wrote the details on a scrap of paper. That scrap became a 5,000 square metre factory. Consequently, Rasasi now operates 165 stores across the GCC and exports to over 90 countries. Blue Lady became the first successful Western-style fragrance from an Arabic house. The Hawas line built a modern masculine following. However, what defines Rasasi is continuity.
