Gissah means "story" in Arabic. Moreover, Bashar Al-Ameer founded the brand in Kuwait in 2018. Not Dubai. Not the UAE. Kuwait. That distinction matters because it separates Gissah from the Dubai factory ecosystem that produces most Arabic fragrance brands. Furthermore, 180 stores in six years across Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman shows aggressive growth backed by private equity investment. This is not a garage operation. Gissah creates original compositions using internationally sourced materials including Omani frankincense and Iranian rose. 

However, the brand is still young. It has less than a decade of history. As a result, it competes on ambition and speed more than heritage. In January 2025, Gissah became the official perfume partner of AS Roma football club, its first European sports partnership and a clear signal of where the brand wants to go next.
